Erin Miller

Erin Miller is the Founder, Owner, and Chef of Urban Hearth, the nationally recognized restaurant she opened in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 2016. Under her leadership, Urban Hearth has become one of Boston's most celebrated dining destinations, earning recognition as a Michelin-recommended restaurant and acclaim for its seasonal tasting menus, thoughtful hospitality, and deep commitment to local sourcing.

A 2025 James Beard Award nominee for Best Chef: Northeast and participant in the James Beard Foundation's Women's Entrepreneurial Leadership (WEL) program, Erin is classically trained at the French Culinary Institute in New York and honed her craft in acclaimed kitchens, including Dan Barber's Blue Hill. Her cooking is guided by the seasons, shaped by close relationships with farmers, fishermen, and foragers, and grounded in a belief that restaurants can be powerful forces for both community and environmental stewardship.

Beyond the kitchen, Erin is passionate about mentorship and creating opportunities for the next generation of hospitality professionals. She is committed to building a restaurant culture that values curiosity, craftsmanship, sustainability, and care for guests, employees, and the broader food system alike.

Originally from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, Erin has called Cambridge home for the past 20 years, where she lives with her husband and two sons. When not in the kitchen, she spends time hiking, foraging, and traveling. Her recent adventures include walking the length of Hadrian’s Wall in England and biking the Rhone Valley with her son.
